Medical aid in dying is under attack in Montana — and we need your help.
Montana lawmakers have attempted to criminalize medical aid in dying every single session since the right to this compassionate choice was upheld by the Montana Supreme Court in 2009. Just a few weeks ago SB 136, the Physician Imprisonment Act, was introduced in the Montana Senate. This bill would rip away the right to medical aid in dying and criminalize doctors who help patients end their unbearable suffering.
The Physician Imprisonment Act will be up for a critical vote in the Senate as soon as this week. Our advocates are on the ground fighting this cruel bill, but they need your help.
The chilling effect of criminalizing medical aid in dying has the potential to reverberate across the country. We must defeat this bill and affirm the essential right to end-of-life autonomy.
