Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day is celebrated every year to honor the legacy of Dr. King and encourage everyday Americans to participate in a day of service in their communities. Last year, Compassion & Choices sponsored the 16th annual Memorial Foundation ‘Leaders of Democracy’ Awards Luncheon during the 52nd Annual Legislative ConferenceNew Window of the Congressional Black Caucus.
The Memorial Foundation launched in 2012 to promote the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King memorial on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. The memorial serves as a permanent place to remember the legacy of Dr. King in our nation’s capital and reminds us, at Compassion & Choices, of the importance of building a legacy of your own.
