The Daily Gazette Letter to the Editor: New York should pass Aid in Dying Act

An excerpt from Daily Gazette letter to the editor by Schenectady resident Eleanor Aronstein, “New York should pass Aid in Dying Act,” published March 6, 2021:

“The right to die peacefully and free of pain is presently denied to New Yorkers. Physician aid at the end of life, known as Medical Aid in Dying, is now legal in 10 U.S. jurisdictions: California, Colorado, District of Columbia, Hawaii, Montana, Maine, New Jersey, Oregon, Vermont and Washington… Recently, the Medical Aid in Dying Act, A4321, was introduced (again) in the state Assembly. Urge your state Assembly member and your state senator to support Death with Dignity legislation for New Yorkers.”
