An excerpt from the Syracuse.com letter to the editor, “Legislators should pass Medical Aid in Dying Act,” by Baldwinsville resident Carol Keysor, published May 31, 2022:

“As someone who has spent over 40 years working in medicine, I am appalled that New York does not have medical aid in dying to provide options to those suffering with excruciating terminal illnesses. I urge our New York state Assembly members and Senators to pass New York’s Medical Aid in Dying Act immediately…

Medical Aid in Dying has been safely available in 10 states, including our neighbors in New Jersey and Vermont. Too many have suffered while legislators have ignored them. I urge our state legislators to act today and pass the Medical Aid in Dying Act.”
