“There is no profit in curing the body if, in the process, we destroy the soul,” reads the humanitarian credo of California’s City of Hope, acclaimed for their high-level care, research and education focused on eliminating cancer and diabetes. Compassion & Choices is pleased to collaborate with them on a series of webinars covering a range of compelling subjects.
The symposium premiered this month with Every Picture Tells a Story: A Young Photographer Shares Her Husband’s Moving End-of-Life Experience Through Her Lens. City of Hope hosted Compassion & Choices President and CEO Kimberly Callinan and photographer Amanda Villegas for a moving inside look at Amanda’s photography and the personal story of her husband, Chris’, final months.
The next installment, The Actively Dying Patient, airs October 1. This webinar will discuss the challenges of caring for patients at the end of life, whether during anticipated or sudden death. The importance of education and discussions around the issues faced at the end of life in fostering a comfort level with clinical staff, caregivers, patients, families and institutions will also be covered, and CME credit is available for physicians.
