Black History Month Spotlight: Dr. Carolyn Gilmore

Dr. Gilmore has discovered effective ways to guide and counsel her congregation through all stages of life, including end-of-life planning, with a focus on an individual's psychological, emotional, and spiritual health.

She earned her undergraduate degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Maryland College Park, Maryland; she continued her studies at Howard University where she earned Master and Doctorate degrees in Clinical Psychology. After receiving her call to ministry, she enrolled at the Wilbur Waters School of Religion and Theological Studies, where she received a Bachelor, Master and Doctorates of Divinity and Theology.

She later became the Dean of Wilbur Waters School of Religion and Theological Studies for a period of ten years, and she presently serves as Vice Chair of the Board of Directors.

Dr. Gilmore was licensed and ordained to the Gospel Ministry by Galatians Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. JC Elmore.
