June 24, 2022

Joanna Woodson (She/Her)

Joanna Woodson is a graduating student from the University of Maryland School of Law in Baltimore. Before law school, she attended Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, North Carolina, where she received a Bachelor of Social Work with a minor in Spanish. During law school, Joanna led an interprofessional student-run free health clinic helping to fill gaps in healthcare for individuals living in Southwest Baltimore. Joanna has followed Compassion & Choices for years, and is passionate about the mission and vision of the organization and is grateful to have the opportunity to work with the legal team this summer

Libby Smith (She/Her)

Libby Smith just finished her first year of law school at the University of Washington School of Law in Seattle. Libby received a Bachelor of Science, Health Science, and a minor in Business from the Boise State University Honors College. Before beginning law school, Libby worked for a small non-profit hospice organization in Corvallis, Oregon. The experience solidified her understanding of the importance of choice at the end of life and inspired her to apply for the Compassion and Choices Legal Fellowship. Libby is incredibly grateful for this opportunity and cannot wait to work with Compassion & Choices this summer.
